Research Facilities and Infrastructure

  • Cell and tissue culture technologies
  • Gene expression and cloning technologies
  • Real time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR)
  • Protein expression and purifications technologies
  • Instruments for extracellular vesicle isolation and purification, such as Chromatography, ultracentrifuge, immunoaffinity based captures, among others
  • Analytical instruments for measurements and characterization of extracellular vesicles and nanoparticles
  • Flow cytometry/FACS
  • Fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and high throughput image screening
  • In vivo facility and imaged-based organ screening technology
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC) facility

In addition we also have access to core facilities: Genomics, proteomics, and animal core facilities

(i) Understanding disease through extracellular vesicles (EVs) and translating this knowledge for developing new class of precision therapeutics, (ii) Develop EVs as programmable carriers of nucleic acid-based drugs including siRNA, antisense oligonucleotides and CRISPR system, for the delivery of treatments to specific cells and tissues.
